Happy Birthday

Last weekend, we celebrated Husband's birthday.

As per usual, everything we did was what he specifically wanted to do, how he wanted to do it.

We started our day off by packing up his new old car with the boys, towels, sunscreen, music, and McDonald's breakfast, and headed to the beach.

The beach is only a twenty minute drive from our house. It's seriously awesome.

The boys loved playing in the sand, and Bear loved the water. Well...looking at the water. Anytime we tried to take him to see the surf, a wave would tickle his toes and he would be sprinting towards the car.

After about two hours of running and chasing and playing in the sand, we packed everything up and headed back home.

While the boys napped, Husband played some video games and I prepared his birthday cake and dinner.

He loves strawberry shortcake, so I baked up two angel food cakes, made some homemade strawberry whipped cream, and got the sugared strawberries ready.

He also requested steak and potatoes for dinner, and that's what he got. Sort of.

Medium rare restaurant-style steaks and baked potato salad with green beans. He gave it an overall 8/10. :)

After the boys went to sleep, we brought out the cake, plugged in the Xbox, and spent the rest of the night relaxing.

Hope y'all had an amazing weekend!

Tutorial: How To Use Clementine Sketch

If there is one thing I love, it's a pretty font. I have hundreds on my computer. It is a guilty pleasure for me to scour the internet for a font that I might use on a photo or in a card. It's worse than buying yarn.

So, imagine my delight when I start seeing font lists all over Pinterest. (I was thrilled. Yeah.)

However, there is a font that is extremely popular called Clementine Sketch. And, while absolutely adorable and definitely one of the top fonts I see, I have never, never, ever seen it used correctly.

When I downloaded this font about three years ago, I noticed that it looked odd when I tried to type things out with it.

So I went back to the file and read the little "Read Me" that came with it when I downloaded it.

Voila! That was the problem.

You see, when you use Clementine Sketch, things are a bit tedious. But trust me, they'll definitely help.

See? Tedious. But it's so worth it!

Isn't it pretty? I love it so much. But, as with everything, there is a catch.

Told you there was a catch. It's an easy fix, however.

I hope this helps everyone! I love this font (as I've stated several times throughout this post), and I want everyone else to love it, too.
